So since it's been 85 weeks since my last update, which makes it what, almost a year and a half. Crazyness. Well anyways in the last year and half I haven't played any MMO's other then stupid java ones when I'm at work being bored. I've been thinking about coming back to XI and starting a new char, but not sure what yet, and if I do it'll be annon so you guys wont know it's me. Although I might log Glade on from time to time but don't expect him to do much.

On real life stuff, I bought a house and move in on Wednesday and got a year round job finally. I'm now a 911 dispatcher for Fire and Medical. LEO's you can have that law enforcement crap. I also bought a Ford F150 to haul the bike and get to work when it snows. Oh I got a dog as well an awesome Chocolate lab who is a total ham.

Well it has been a few months since I've posted anything here and since I'm in a decent mood I'll give an update. I left ON and FFXI a few months ago and since then I've been enjoying having a real life. Shortly after I left XI an old friend from high school gave me a call asking if I would be interested in working on a independant film that he was helping produce. Since I had been laid off from my summer job I said sure why not. So for the last 2 months or so I've been working on the film. It's a horror/thriller film that takes place mostly underground. We're almost done shooting the northern california stuff which is where my involvement in the film will end. Which works for me because it is alot of long hours and working 6 days a week.

One really good thing from working on the film though is that I have met a bunch of other old friends from high school one of which I've had a crush on for years. I asked her out one night and we've been dating ever since. Everything there is going really well and I'm happy for the first time in a long time.

My old boss gave me a call the other day and offered me a job starting in the begining of Febuary and I think I'm going to take it. It's a good career move and things have improved quite a bit since I last worked there.

Well I guess thats about it for now. Don't have much else to say, I do pop on XI every now and then to say hi to some folks but I don't leave my MH. So if you see me on feel free to say hi.

Well I'm pretty pissed right now, I was headed over to my buddies house to finish up the prep on my bike. IE: taping up lights and blinkers, pulling fuses, etc. on my way over to his house my oil light comes on and as soon as I pulled in the cluctch the bike died on me. So I get the bike back home after about an hour and drop the oil pan and I see metal shavings and bits of a spring in the bottom of the pan. I had a pretty good idea where it came from so I proceeded to take apart what I thought it was gonna be. Sure enough the clutch plate was fuxor's. I tried all day friday to find the clutch plate but nobody withing 150 miles had one, so my weekend was pretty much fucked. This was supposed to be my first track day and now I'm fucked. Luckily the track time orginzers were understanding and refuned my $150. I still went up there with my buddy cuz he was riding as well, so I was able to help him out with some of the mechanical stuff on his bike and just an extra pair of hands.

So yesterday after the maintience I decide it would be a good idea to go kill Tryannic Tunnok. So I grabbed my trusty Vira bot and we mosey on up to Ifrits Cauldrun and kill a few sulfer scorps and after the first round of kills Tunnok pokes his head out to say hi. I answer his Hi with a acid bolt to the face. Needless to say he didnt like that, so I'm running back to where Vira bot was waiting for me, and the I turn and begin to start stabbing away at old Tunnok. Well he didnt like this very much and decides to spam out a coulpe of AoE attacks and needless to say a few seconds later down I go followed shortly by Vira bot. I raise Vira bot up and we recover. After our recovery I head over and throw another bolt into Tunnoks head, this time though I got a little too close to his Sulfer Scorpian buddy and they both beat me down pretty quick. Luckily this time I didnt involve Vira and recovery time went quick. We finally recover fully and by now I'm a bit upset, so I make sure to be extra careful this time and I drop him about 30 min later. Lohar dropped but that was it.

Later that night the LS decides to do a little KS run (scorps, how that for irony) and I'm like meh why not, I'll go. I got crap like I usually do in KS30 scorps but hey I'm ok with that because I usually get crap from KS runs, doesnt matter which one if its my turn I'll get crap.

So today I've got about an hour or so to kill before I have to get ready and leave for work. Guess what I decide is a good idea to do. Thats right Tunnok. So I head up to Ifrits again and proced to kill the good ole Sulfer Scorpians that are around and after about the 2nd roun dTunnok pops his head up again, I answer his head pop with a acid bolt followed but a light sc that Virabot and I make. Things are going pretty smoothly untill he decides to show my his favorite move while my shadows were down, Death Scossors. So I'm like ok Vira bot and I will just recover and go at it again. So I switch over to Vira bot comp and I wait for Vira bot to die so I can RR and make another go at it. Well right as Vira bot eats dirt I see this little message. Virakyukyu's Reraise effect wears off. All I have to say about that is dot dot dot. So I made a decision, I hp'd Vira Bot and get him back to Ifrits get myself raised. After I get unweak I'm like ok I've got about 30 min left before I gotta get ready for work. So I show my buddy how another bolt to the face feels. We start going at it, and I'm poking away at him, slowly but surely his hp is dropping. at about the 40% mark he decides to yet again drop all my shadows followed again by a Death Scissors. This time I had unfiltered dmg and I see how much dmg I end up taking. Glade take 1551 points of damage. Vira falls shortly after that. At this point I'm like well shit, I dont have time to kill him so I promptly go through my friend lists and ls's and tell people that Tunnok is up and free and that somebody should go kill it. You wanna know the response I got?
I dont feel like switch gear blah blah blah, ohh well. Maybe he'll still be up when I get home and I'll just go kill him then.

Well like a dummy I said I would work overtime today so here I am working day shift at work. Hopefully it'll be a busy quick day, but it's pretty slow right now so I'm killing time till things pick up.

FFXI has been going decently, however Shardd just quit so lost a good buddy there. He'll be missed, he could get a bit emo but all in all he was a good player and was fun to hang with. Bonecraft hit 84 yesterday working on raising it more hopefully I will be 90 by the end of the week, but that depends on mats and how long my gil supply lasts. Been making Reraise hairpins and those sell pretty well for a little bit of a profit, and when i decide to actually spend some time and farm the mats for the animas it'll be good way to make some money. I need to raise leather here pretty soon otherwise it'll be pretty pointless to have high level bonecraft if i cant even make a HQ SH.

Bleh aka update time

Well here I am at work again on night shift bored outta my skull. I still need to have something in my life change but I really have no clue what it should be. I am dating this girl now however, she's cool and all but she's got a kid and I dont know if I'm ready to be any kind of father figure. Kinda makes things rough, because the kid limits what we can do especially being 18 months old.

Work is work and is retarded, although starting at the end of the month I'm no longer in our disptach center and will be working at the Air Attack base, So i'll be figuring out where to send our tankers and air attack planes. It'll be interesting I guess but probally be really wasy for me to pick up. I mean if I can be cleared to work dispatch in 2 weeks figuring out the airbase would take me a shift if that. Good thing about going to the air base is that my schedule will change and I'll be off fucking gay ass night shift. I cant wait for that. even if I end up working fri, sat, sun shift it'll be better then god damn night shift.

Last sunday was a good day though, went out for the ride, (see previous post for pics) but monday I had to go buy new tires cuz ones on the bike were pretty much shot. I always end up spending more at the bike shop then I plan on when I go into that place. I cant really help it that place is just so cool. When I was there i ended up spending about $1000-1100 on tires and riding boots and riding leathers. I can live with that though cuz the boots and leathers will save my ass if I go down. Getting road rash cleaned out with a bristle brush doesnt sound like fun especially since they dont give you any pain killers cuz they tend to thin blood out and make it less likly to clot.

An intersting thing happened this morning when I got home from work. I hopped on the comp to check sales and messages and I got an IM from a girl that I went out with a few times but nothing ever amounted to cuz she goes to college in Utah. A friend of hers moved away from Sacramento awhile back and is coming back to visit soon and I guess she asked my friend for my email cuz she doesnt know many people in Cali anymore. This struck me as a bit odd but who knows maybe something will amount to it. I told my friend that it was fine by me that she gave her friend my email. I'll have to actually check my email when I get home in the morning to see if her friend has written.

As far as FFXI is going I really have no complaints, Bonecraft is finally paying off, I spent about 3mil on mats the other day and i still have about half left and I"m already even from selling the synths, so from here on out it's all profit. If i farm the mats for the mats I need, I have a few alchemist friends that'll synth my mats for me and then I'll be rolling into some pretty good gil.

I miight have to leave Kupo Net because of time conflicts, right now I work wed-sat and wed and sat are the days they do runs. I missed out on my assassin armlets cuz of work and they ended getting free lotted since Hito already had them and there were no other thief mains. I threw out a feeler to the LS i would like to join for dynamis, they are pretty small right now, sounds like 12-15 core members but all highly skilled. They do their runs on Monday night around 9:30 pst which works well for me considering thats my timezone. This might cause problems with ON because of the people it's with but if that happens then I'll deal with it then. Gotta love all the drama thats involved in an MMORPG. We'll see how it all turns out though, I just dont wanna lose friends because of it but if I do ohh well, it wont be from my end that causes the end of friendships.

Well I guess thats it for now. Time to figure out what to do for the rest of the shift, a nap actually sounds pretty good. So till next time.

Well since my last update not too much has gone on. I took a last friday and saturday off so I could go to a party but thought the party was on saturday and it ended up being on friday. ORZ!!!!! So I missed it and that made me sad in the pants. Took my bike out a ton this last week and almost wrecked twice, lol. That woulda hurt alot. Went and saw the new Wallace and Gromit movie with my sister and niece. My niece is getting big and she's a big squirt, but I love her. The movie was pretty funny, come to think of it the Wallace and Gromit movies are always done well.

Monday (halloween) I was able to talk my roomie and a good buddy of mine into going to the pool hall with me, there was lots of eye candy there since everyone was dressed up. I kinda hit it off with this girl Nikki, so I think tomorrow or Friday I'll give her a call and set something up to see if there is anything worth pursuing there. Played some FFXI with my cousin the other day, went and skilled up polearm a little bit in Eldieme played for like an hour and half just screwing around and talking shit. It was fun. I've decided that when I do come back that I'm retiring thief. So other then farming and ls events I prolly wont be using it at all.

Anyone that hasnt seen Waiting yet needs to. It's one hell of a funny movie. For those of you that have see it.

I finally bought some new running shoes so I can finally start running again and get my lazy ass back into shape. Getting started on a workout schedule is always a bitch but I know I'll feel better in the long run, I think I may start with that tomorrow. We'll see how that goes though, lol.

After being away from FFXI for awhile has been nice. Trying to find something else to do with my time is kinda wierd. It's like what did I do before FFXI? I remember shooting alot of pool, need to start doing that again I used to be really good and I miss that. Moday nights is ladies night at the pool hall I normally go too, I think I'll start going there again. I should be able to talk my roomie into going with me I think, either that or my buddy Aaron to go with. Hung out with my cousin a couple of weeks ago and that was a blast, nothing like mind numbing name calling and just screwing around to relieve stress. Got my overtime check the other day so here in the next few days I'm gonna be going to Foot Locker or something and get some new running shoes. My old ones are so old that the soles are starting to detatch cuz the glue is finally giving out. It sucks because the old ones are really comfy and new ones have to be broken in.

Been riding my motorcycle alot lately which has been a blast, its time for an oil change and a tuneup on it though. Went for a ride with my dad the other day too, it was way too long but it was alot of fun. Next time I wanna try his harley out, not for the whole ride but for like 10 miles or so. I'm thinking in the next summer or 2 I'm gonna buy a new bike cuz mine is starting to get old.

Bought a PSP the other week, having something that I can listen to music, watch movies, and play video games that is portable. I know the older ones can be hacked so you can emulate games on them, anyone know if you can still do that with the newer ones? If so where can I do that at?

Put some serious thought into taking a break from FFXI and I think I'm gonna have to. I'm not enjoying the game at this point in time. I dont like logging on and getting bitched at for not being here or there at a certain time or for killing a mob when theres a thief with THIII in the alliance. Dont know how long my break is gonna last, but it will probabaly be until I get bored and need something to do. I'll probally still pop on from time to time to say hi but as far as doing shit I dont think I will. I play games to have fun and since it isnt fun for me right now I'm not gonna play. Hopefully my spot in ON will still be there when I come back, but if its not I understand. I wish you guys all well and I'll say hi when I do pop in from time to time.

Went down to my cousins this weekend, it was great just getting away from the bull shit of home and work. I had alot of fun, probally more then I've had in a long time. We just screwed around really didnt do much of anything. Played some PSP (bought one so I'd be able to), went to see Waiting. That movie was stupid but really funny. I'm never going to come in when a resturant is about to close again. Also don't ever be rude to the people that handle your food. What they do in the movie is so gross you'll wish you had never been bitchy to your server. Been thinking about trying to hook back up with my sister's friend. She's this cool chick that just like to have a good time, only problem with her is that she is beyond flakey. I'll have to see if I can break her of that habit. I dont care if something comes up and you cant make it, just pick up the phone and tell me. Cleaned my room when I got home and did some laundry. It's kinda nice having a clean room and clean clothes, need to not let shit pile up and just keep up on it from day to day.

Once I get paid again and can get some new running shoes gonna start exercising again. Need to get back to where I was 6 months ago before I came to the command center and stopped exercising. I've got it figured out how and when I'm gonna exercise. On the days I work I'll run the tar-mac at the airport that sits behind my work. Hopefully there wont be a problem with any of the airport staff, I dont think there will be, but I'm gonna talk to em before I actually start doing it just to be sure. I dont like the way I look and I'm going to change that. I know I'll be much happier when I do. I wont feel fat and ugly, which I'm probabaly not but still feel that way. Once I lose about 10 pounds gonna work on getting my 6 pack back which I miss having. Hopefully by the time New Years hits it'll start to be showing. But we'll see, it all depends on how motivated I stay with it. I just need to keep myself on it wether I feel like working out or not.

FFXI has been going well I guess,if nothing else just a little slow but steady, killed Kirin a few nights ago. Drops where shitty but we killed him. Killed CC today again drops were shitty. All this means is that I'm no longer allowed to kill shit untill I get my knife. Currently 0/43 gonna camp again today after I wake up I think, hopefully I'll get more then 4 hours of sleep. Bonecraft is going up, slowly but surely. Also go my specs today which look damn good on my char. They looked so good I even fought CC in them (accidently forgot to unequip them when it popped). Bonecraft is now like 67.8 +1, I'm now skilling on tigerfangs which is a bit high but compared to the alternative, Kilo fans, I'll take my chances. Got a few .1's before I had to log to do some rl shit. Sounds like Kirin fell through tonight due to people not showing up, Mako is a bit upset at the people that didnt post on the boards saying wether or not they could make it, when I logged there were around 26 people in the ls and when asked 8-10 said they wouldnt be able to go to Kirin. I can understand how Mako feels, because although I have little experience running a ls I can still see the stress it puts on her. I know ON will do well with her around as well with the a majority of the other members we have. Just need people to either commit to show up or post that they wont be able to make it, if nothing else send a Mako or one of the sac's a msg.

One of these days i'll get back to Sam but for now I'm jumping back into thief again, theres just too much I still want to do with it. Lots of NM's that I want to kill and missions to complete. Need to get Rank 10 in windy then switch to Bastok get Rank 10 there, and finally finish out with Sandy rank 10. I really want to get CoP done but it's hard to find a set as a thief since people are so OMG THIEVES SUCK! I can handle the ignorance of other people but it just makes it frustrating to see so much of it. Also since I'm on chapter 5 after my last set fell apart its hard to just get some people and go do a mission here or there which leaves me to try to solo some (not likely) or join a shout in Jeuno which is rather appalling. One of these days I'll get CoP done but who knows when.

Guess thats about it as far as FFXi is concerned, so I'm out.

Today I found out that I get laid off on Monday, but also starting Monday I get hired as a dispatcher clerk. So inn actuality I dont get laid off just my title changes, as does my work week slightly. So now instead of working wed-sat 9pm to 7am. I work wed-sat 7pm to 7am one week, next week thur-sat 7pm-7am. Which means I can go do Dynamis every other week. Pay weill be about the same, maybe slightly more. My overtime rate takes a huge jump going from $12.50 per hour to around $24 an hour. So it might actually be worth my time to take a few extra OT days. Been kinda depressed lately, I should go get tested for Manic, since I think I have a slight case of it. Nothing like you see in the movies but it seems more often then not I'm on the down side of the roller coaster if you know what I mean. Also need to go get my eyes checked cuz things about 15 feet away or so are getting kinda fuzzy, but thats only in certain light. Been reading Tailsmen of Shannara alot lately (finished last night), and while I was sleeping had a really vivid Shannara based dream which was really cool. I dont usually dream and it was a good feeling to actually remember this one, I hope it starts happening more. I'm gettting sick of how I look which is probally part of my depression, since coming to work where I am now I havent been able to really work out at all. I get lazy on my days off and its hard for me to get motivated to work out on my own time, something that I need to start doing although it will probally take more of a slide of where I'm at to get my ass motivated to do so.

Getting really sick of being single, but thats my own fault cuz I dont go out and do social things to meet people, and when I do go out I dont usually have the balls to go up and talk with a girl. I dont think I'm an unattractive person, I figure I'm probally on the upper end of average. I really need to get past these mental blocks I place on myself and just go with it. Breaking past the blocks I place on myself are probally some of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Runnning into a burning building or fighting a Cali wildfire is cake walk, but something like that I just cant seem to do. Hell even taking care of a person trapped in a vehicle that has multiple injuries is easier then that. I'll figure something out just don't really have any clue what. Sadly the girls I want to date all live out of state which doesnt really allow for any kind of real realationship. One of them wants to come back to California, but when she does she'll be going to school, which I could totally handle other then the fact that she would most likely be going to school down south in L.A. or San Diego. I would have no problem moving down there, but that's alot to do for something that might not work out. That and not having a job or any friends close would be rough. I guess in time we'll see what happens.

I was supposed to go down to my cousins and visit this last weekend, but I havent been able to get ahold of him now for about 2 weeks. Which only adds to the depression because he's the brother I never had. We had a fight about a month ago, but as far as I know its been solved and put to rest. Gonna do my best to get ahold of his punk ass and make some plans. I need to get out of Sac if only for a few days just to clear my head. Going down to visit him always helps with that, and I havent been able to do that since around June? Has it been that long? Yeah I guess it has. Fuck it even if I cant get ahold of him I'll show up on his doorstep, his roomie will let me in I know that much, and if he isnt home I'll just track his ass down. I know or used to know rather all his hangout locations so it shouldnt be to difficult to find him.

My boss, as much as I like the guy needs to relax a bit. He lets this job stress him out way too much, which in turn puts stress on me. There are days where he is the best guy to work for, but on the days that he is stressed it pours onto my shoulders. I can usually shrug it off but sometimes I cant and I just want to tell him to chill out. But that would prolly mean a mark in my record or my job so I keep my mouth shut. I can deal with it just as I can anything else, all it takes is time. With the application I put in to be able to switch to a dispatcher clerk that pretty much opens up the entire state to me. So if i get a call to work in say Camino, it would take some serious thought to turn it down. Coming out of the Command Center where I am now with the experience that this place gives and how fucked up some of the workings are I would be very sought after by other Command Centers. We'll see what happens though, I would have to get other offers first before I can take or turn them down. If Camino was to offer me a spot it would mean less commute time and I would be able to stay at my Pop's place which would be really cool. It would be nice to stay at a place where I would be totally welcome rather then just crashing on my other cousins couch. My cousins are awesome, but I dont want to overstay my welcome there which I kinda feel like I might be doing so soon. I try to help where I can, but sometimes it just doesnt seem to be enough.

It started raining tonight, I love the rain especially in the fall and spring when its still warm. To me theres something soothing about just going out and talking a walk to relax. Just let it wash everything away. Hopefully it'll still be raining sunday when I get my days off so I can do just that. It would help alot at this point in time.

I guess thats about it for now, said all I want to at this time.

Well, after being back on days for 2 days I get the word from my captains that my schedule is being switched again back to night shift. This is getting really old really fast. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy working nights. It's mellow, I get 5 hours of OT a night, and I have alot of free time to kinda do my own thing. What I don't care for is the constant switching of my schedule, it's very difficult switching from nights to days one week, days the next and then back to nights the next. The body can only handle so much. They tell me this is the last switch but we'll see about that.

As far as FFXI goes I started leveling Sam again and I'm enjoying it alot, got in a kick ass pt today and went from 54 to 55 @3k. Also got bonecraft to 60.1 before I had to log to get ready for work. Funds have been depleted to around 200k, bought some lvl 55 gear for sam which ran me about 500k so this week I'm gonna have to go farm or do some bcnm's. I think I'm gonna retire Thief except for ls/dynamis events. Once Sam is up to lvl I'll probally retire it completely. I dont know though, I enjoy thief so maybe I just need a break from it. We'll see how it goes over the next few weeks. I might xp it just so I can throw some merits into sam I really dont know, really undecided at this point, but I am having alot of fun with sam again. Also if anyone needs anything made from bonecraft that a lvl 60 bonecrafter can make lemme know, I'll be glad to help out. Not currently charging for any synths just bring me the mats.

Bored at work figured I'd share a vid of one of the fires in Southern California that I would prolly be sent too if I wasnt stuck in our dispatch center. Although I work in the northern part of the state I've been on many fires like this one and they are a blast. Being up close and in the mix of things is such a blast and rush of adreneline (spelling?)
that you really cant imagine unless you've actually done it. The heat is intense but you get used to it, the gear is also heavy at first but once you get in shape and used to the gear it basically become an extension of yourself and you just don't notice it anymore.

A question I get asked all the time is "Dont you get hot?".
Quick answer is yes, but like the weight of the gear you wear you get used to it. Just have to keep hydrated and your fine really, it's really not much different then sitting close to a campfire while camping once you get used to the job. As far as the gear goes generally you carry around 40-50 lbs that you have to keep on you all the time, we call this web gear and it contains our fire shelter (http://www.fs.fed.us/fire/safety/shelter/shelter_index.html), water, head lamps, hose clamps, and any snacks we may want. Many of the more seasoned/experienced fire fighters also carry hazard flagging, fuzzes (looks like a road flare) for lighting back fires, and misc. things that we pick up throughout our career.

While on a wildland fire doing whats called a progressive hoselay, which is where we take 1 1/2" hose and hook it together to put water on the fire, the packs that hold that hose weigh about 50 lbs also. So while were on a fire line we have anywhere from 50-100 lbs that were carrying to kick ass and get the job done. It gets tough sometimes especially when you're putting in a hoselay on a dead piece of line for like 2 miles up canyons at a 45-70% slope but its still a good feeling when you look back and see that you saved somebody's house or that you caught the fire at 1 acre, because if you hadnt been there the house could be gone or the fire coulda gone to 1000 acres.

Aside from not really having a life in the summer there are benifiets. Good money, good benifiets, great retirment, girls dig the job once they get past the initail you're full of shit phase which happens more often the not sadly, but hey thats how it goes sometimes. Well I guess thats about it for now, till i get bored again.

Thief ~ Samurai

Been putting some heavy thought of retiring thief after the events of this weekend. I'm just not enjoying the job anymore, and I really want to get back to Samurai. I almost have all the gear I'll need for it, only like 3 or 4 more pieces are needed for it. Granted they are the expensive pieces but that shouldnt be to hard to rustle up since I've got thief at 75.

I'm now 0/42 on Sozu which is part of the reason I'm contemplating retiring thief, I've wasted so much time there that I just dont want to go back. Granted its good money but I dont even have the motivation to go out of the room other then to kill the place holder. Even steal > hide seems like too much work, and once FF7 shows up I'd do that between pops. I'll go 0/50 on the bitch before I decide completly I think.

On another note I'm back crafting again which is kinda cool, I'm excited to see my bonecraft skill go from 40 to 53 in the span of 12 hours. Tried skilling more today but very few skill ups were obtained, checked moon phase and it was a crappy one so I decided to call it for the day and get ready for work. Hopefully here in a month or 2 depending on how the funds for it go I'll hit 100 and be able to start making some cool signed stuff for my friends. Or for anyone else that would want it for that matter.
Gonna have to start whoring out so bcnm's or farm my mats but farming sucks and I probally wont do that cuz I'm lazy like that even though the drops would be easy kills. I might head over to LoO and try it out but /shrug.
